just came back! and yes, i celebrated my bday there! (so did ade!)
and i think being in cambodia is like, the best birthday present ever. (:
what better to do than to be serving others for God on such an important day of my life?
cambodia was just… indescribable.
cambodia, so different from thailand, but yet the fact is that all of them needed to hear about God.
and in cambodia.. the people, the orphans, there loved God so much, that though they have nothing, they give everything.
everyday was just such a touching experience!
from the churches, to the slums, the orphans, the school, the few villages, the christmas party, the prayer walking, the sharing, the girls’ talk, every little bit, was God led.
we gave out clothes, food, prayers, information to chew on, hugs, presents, fun, but most importantly, shared the love of God through it all.
the first time i’ve ever seen slums like right in front of my eyes!
i mean, we know about slumdog millionaire and all, but woah, when i saw i it, i was like…
makes me wonder and ponder on how lucky we singaporeans are.
even as we encourage them, i’m super encouraged by them.
the orphans. some of them with no parents, or both parents with HIV positive blood, some were on the brink of death when they were found, some even watched their parents die or even committed suicide.
but guess what?
they didn’t wallow in their self pity, instead they looked forward and spent everyday with God.
God was their life, their one and only God.
just to let you know, the orphans were from about 4-25 years old (:
i love trading and sharing testimonies with the older orphans, cause their life stories are amazing.
the way they talk about God, the way the emphasize how much God is their everything, it’s super amazing
after this trip, i think it really changed my perspective and views on some stuff.
even some unexpected ones, which i think is really really good.
i learn how to appreciate certain people more, i learn how to love more, i learn how to step out of my comfort zone, i learnt that the world out there is so much bigger.
(:
two different nations.
two different languages.
but the same God.
and yes, my favorite team.
hope my body clock is going to be turned back (:
i feel sleepy at 10…
